Man v. Food: not your ordinary culinary show

A seven-pound burrito. Habanero pepper chicken wings. A pizza slice that is longer than your arm. These are just a few of the food items that host Adam Richman from Man v. Food has consumed this year.

The Travel Channel has combined traveling to different cities with one of America’s obsessions: food. Adam goes from town to town to find unique entrees or favorites of a town’s restaurants and bars. Not only does Adam find all the good eats – he also participates in food challenges.

These challenges consist of eating spicy or huge quantities of food in a given amount of time. So far this season, Adam has “accepted” the challenge to eat:

• Four Horsemen Burger in San Antonio: This burger has 4 of the hottest peppers and must be consumed in a specific amount of time.
• Mac Daddy Pancakes in Honolulu: A stack of blueberry and banana pancakes that are about the size of a tire must be consumed in a specific amount of time.
• Firebrand Chili in Springfield, Illinois: A super-hot chili must be consumed in a specific amount of time.

This show is great for anybody wanting to know a little more about different cities, their culinary traditions, and where to eat when you visit! Even better, watching the show might even spark an idea for how you can start your own restaurant – because you never know when Adam might visit and participate in a food challenge!
